SMP Hair Density For Women

Scalp micro-pigmentation also know as hair density for women is a treatment that uses small needle configurations to implant pigment into the papillary layer of the dermis. The needles make small impressions creating the look of a natural hair follicle. This specific treatment is suitable for women that still have hair and is thinning in parts. This is a density treatment to add fullness which is not the same as male SMP that is bald all over. The goal is to create a natural fuller looking scalp with density which will give the appearance of thicker hair.

It hurts less than having a regular tattoo and certainly a lot less than a hair transplant. Scalp micropigmentation doesn't penetrate the skin as deeply as normal tattooing. Most clients feel very little discomfort.

You can treat all areas of the scalp with the most common areas been the hairline, centre and crown on the head, the sides of the scalp when hair pulled back to a pony tail.

The average sessions required is between 2 and 4 which are done approx 3 weeks apart for best results. Results are immediate you will notice density after one session how ever to achieve a natural result we work in layers which is built up over a number of sessions. We do not want to add all the density on one session and make it to dense. Allowing the first session to heal and build from there in the second and third session will give you the best natural results.

I use a high quality ink set which is a series of browns and modifiers which allows us to match any skin and hair colour. The target colour we will use is a neutral brown that is perfectly balanced between the skin and hair. It is not matched purely on hair colour as I understand people colour their hair and as we grow older we can go grey. The chosen pigment is to resemble the hair follicle just after it breaks through the skin. If you are concerned about going grey when you are older, dont be the pigment used is to create a hair follicle and is balanced with skin tone not just hair colour. This treatment also requires refreshes at some point so the area of the tattoo will fade, when we retouch and you have gone grey a new colour will be matched to suit skin and hair tone if any adjustments are needed. Remember we are working with hair there is not alot of light that gets through like male SMP who is generally bald.

I would suggest with SMP hair density to have it checked every 3 to 4 years however everyone is different and some clients may require a refresh 6 years +, this does not mean it would have completely gone it may just require a refresh treatment to have it all looking new and fresh again. What will contribute to fade SMP for women but not limited to: - sun exposure - oily skin - medications - cellular metabolism

- pregnant or breastfeeding, must wait 6 months - currently on accutane, must wait 1 year - scaled, red or irritated scalp - skin growth that is raised - to much hair loss as this is a density treatment, not for to much baldness - going through chemotherapy or radiation treatments, must wait 1 year - alopecia totallis or universalis, (alopecia areta - patchy will be case by case) - active scalp infections and fungal - hair transplants, must wait 6 months - no active medication on the scalp - steroid injections, must wait 30 days - freshly coloured or dyed hair, must wait 3 weeks - thyroid disorder (we can patch test and see how heals before full treatment)
