Before and After Ombre Brow
Frequently asked questions
Ombre brows are very similar to a soft make-up look. We shade darker and create a "full" look through the arch and tails and soften the front to create a subtle and natural shape.
Powder brows are similar to an ombre brow, however, they are more defined and filled in through the front of the brow to create a fuller look.
Combination brows are more of a natural look than our ombre or powder brows. Where our powder brows strive to create a "full", make-up effect, combination brows are designed to create a more "natural brow" by replicating brow hairs with fine strokes at the beginning of the brow.
Our Nano Stroke Combination brows both begin with hair strokes at the front of the brow. The Nano stroke shaded combination brow is different from the standard nano stroke combination brow as it incorporates a shaded technique that create a more fluffy and textured looking brow, rather than a crisp hair stroke finish.
Your first appointment will take approximately 3 hours. Your initial touch up appointment will take 1.5 to 2 hours and colour refresh appointments really depend on how much they have faded and the colour result you are wanting to achieve.
Your eyebrow tattoo is created by depositing pigment into the brow area with a tattoo machine and needles.
Everyone is different and it depends on a variety of factors, including your skin, pores, aftercare, exposure to UV rays...and most importantly, if you follow the recommended before and after care and attend your colour touch up and refresh appointments. You can expect your semi-permanent brow to last between 18 months and 3 years. However, most people will keep them fresh with a yearly appointment.
Eyebrow tattooing can be uncomfortable and you may experience some mild pain at the beginning and end of the procedure. However, it is very manageable and a numbing agent can be applied throughout the procedure.
Yes you can, however, please make sure that there is at least 3 weeks between your botox and tattoo appointment. I always suggest brows first and then Botox treatment after.
Please read the below contraindications carefully. If any of the following apply to you, the procedure is unfortunately not suitable for you: -You are under 18 -You are pregnant or breastfeeding -You have an auto-immune disease -You are currently undergoing chemotherapy -You are epileptic -You are taking any medication that may affect how your skin responds to blood clotting and healing -Have had facial surgery in the last 12 weeks -Have had a vaccination within the last 2 weeks -If you have diabetes please consult your doctor first (due to slow healing and higher risk of infection) -Keloid scarring -Currently on accutane or other strong retinoids
If you have any previous eyebrow cosmetic tattooing from another artist, please contact me for a consult first before making a booking. There is no universal answer to this question and I would need to see the existing tattoo before confirming your ombre/powder brow. Most of the time we can cover the old tattoo with this technique, however there are situations that require tattoo removal first.
Please view the Before and After care FAQ's page to read in depth information on how to prepare for your appointment and how to adequately look after your cosmetic tattoo.
The best thing to do when you are deciding on the type of brow to get, is to think about your goals and your existing brow maintenance habits. If you want a fuller, "make-up" look and you are colouring in your brows whenever you go out, you will most likely prefer the powder or ombre brow. If you don't want a full, shaded brow and are just looking to shape and define your brows with a natural, realist look, you will most likely prefer the nano stroke shaded combination brows. If you are after a more crisp finish with front hair strokes, the nano stroke (no extra shading) brow is for you.
The powder and ombre brows do not have defined brow strokes.
Don't stress though. On the day of your booking we will discuss your brow goals and the effects you like in person. We can help you pick the perfect brow and work with you to bring your dream brows to life.
Anyone with an existing cosmetic tattoo by another artist should contact me prior to booking to arrange a consult. If a colour correction is required for any brows, eg. brows have gone red, purple or grey, please email or message with a clear photo for a consultation. Colour correction can be done in some instances, however, price will vary depending on how many sessions are required to correct the colour. Not all cosmetic tattooing can be corrected- some cases may require tattoo removal first.
