Brow Lamination and Hybrid Dye FAQ's

Eyebrow lamination is the latest and most exciting treatment to hit the beauty industry! It is a procedure that creates shiny, smooth brows and that can assist to fill in gaps and reshape your arches. Lamination involves straightening the brow hairs using a chemical solution, which allows you to brush and manipulate the hairs in a new direction to create a more "full" and "fluffy" look.

Hybrid dye is a state of the art brow dye/stain that is designed to last! Rather than a tint, hybrid brows is a colour stain. At Blushed and Body Cosmetics, we use Bronsun and Brow Code stain, which is renowned for being the best and providing the most long lasting effect on the skin. When you have your brow hairs coloured with the hybrid stain, you achieve an instant ombre effect. The colour will last on your skin for 7 days and on the hair for up to 6 weeks! If you are wanting a "full brow look" without tattooing, we recommend keeping your hybrid stain to a schedule that would involve an application every 3 weeks. However, if you are just after a natural look that will keep your natural brow hairs coloured, you can space your appointments out to every 6 weeks.

Eyebrow lamination lasts for approximately 6 weeks and requires a minimum of 8 weeks between lamination appointments.

Hybrid stain lasts on the skin for 7 days and on the brow hairs for up to 6 weeks. You can manage your brows with hybrid dye every 3 weeks for a full brow effect, or every 6-7 weeks for a natural brow look.

Please keep your brows dry for 24 to 48 hours after a brow lamination or a hybrid stain treatment. Be sure to brush your brows daily, especially if you have had them laminated. A Blushed HOT TIP is when you get in to bed at night, brush your brows all the way up! Make sure that you avoid moisture and oil based products on your brows as this will fade the stain quicker. If you have naturally oily skin, the stain will fade quicker than those with normal/dry skin.

It is recommend clients still maintain there brow lamination daily with a brow balm or brow soap. Anastasia Beverly Hills "Brow Freeze" is a great product for this. We recommend staying away for anything that will dry the brows out such as hairspray and gels.

If brow hair post lamination and after the initial 24-48 hours feels dry you can keep them moisturised with castor oil or coconut oil. Keep in mind using these products with a hybrid stain that has been freshly applied with fade the stain on the skin faster.

In cases with no or very minimal hair, I would recommend a cosmetic tattoo service. We promise, it isn't scary and you will love the outcome. However, if you are really not ready to commit to a cosmetic tattoo, I would recommend booking the hybrid dye only because a lamination needs hairs to be able to re-shape them. Lamination is great if you have sparse areas, but not if you have minimal hair. Keep in mind, hybrid dye is not a permanent brow shaping or colour solution, so it will require regular appointments to create the illusion of a full brow shape.
